Sefedin Ibrahim Alamia Kwumi is an extraordinary artist. Of Sudanese origin, he became an orphan at the age of 14 in 1997 during the civil war. Supported by Médecins Sans Frontières, he was sent to a school that welcomes young orphans. Jean-Louis Dumas who then headed the Hermès group and who had previously visited this school had asked the teachers to send him the graphic works of the most gifted students. Thus in this year 1997 the house Hermès published "Nuba Mountain" a Square made by a young artist of 14 years. "Smiles in third Millenary" is Sefedin Ibrahim Alamia's third collaboration for Hermès.
